Matthias is emotionally constipated person. He doesn’t really express his emotions normally and he’s more reserved or private about his emotions. I think he’s kinda learning about emotions by watching Layla react to his actions. To Judge a person like Matthias, we need to watch his words and actions rationally.
Being a dark romance genre, not everyone is gonna like it and it’s not gonna make sense to everyone too. You don’t like it they leave it simple. I don’t see the requirement to go upto every supporting comment and fight them. Now I am not taking any side coz I am a bit confused from the story itself. My opinion is based on the war going on in the comment section.

SPOILERS………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… so kyle is gonna try to marry layla … basically later on his mom ruins the whole marriage situation cuz she doesnt like layla cuz of her background like shes a nobody but Matthias is behind it all lol cuz he not gonna let layla get with anyone but him lol …from here on out everything that matthias does is to keep layla, to make her his ONLY …theres a part where layla uncle goes to prision and the only way to get him out is through matthias lol so Layla and matthias made a deal that layla becomes his mistress and he lets her uncle out of jail …but as the chapters go by a lot of stuff happens and the deeper matthias is gonna fall for her ….his fiancé don’t love him shes only with him for his name and money and Matthias is only with her for business to make his family look good shes really in love with his cousin … later on he will call off the wedding he gonna realize soon what hes feeling is love for layla …. theres a part where kyle catches matthias and layla having sex and kyle is gonna hit matthias first but then matthias is gonna beat him up lol so to stop the fight layla screams saying she loves matthias …but then tells him she only screamed that so that she can stop the fight and kyle wont get hurt but in the end of the story she tells Matthias it was a lie and she ment what she said when she screamed she loved him that it was the truth lol …a lot of drama is gonna happen way before tho lol and shes gonna get prego and so on lol
and there you have it …he couldn’t control himself …matthais doesn’t know what love is neither does leya their both in the same boat ..leyla has no idea what shes feeling so shes afraid of getting hurt like in her past …… and spoilers lol leyla is already in love with him shes just scared cuz of her past how she was abused and she thinks Matthias is probably the same …that crack you see in matthias is a wall he had inside him cuz everything in his life is about control and business so this feeling that he has, this burning fire he feels towards her is NEW and he doesn’t know how to control it and doesn’t know what it is and that frustrates him and he gets angry cuz hes used to control, is gonna drive him mad and obessed towards leyla …=)
