Like these women are stereotype awful; they’re superficial, they act like a cartoon villain, and they’re stupid. Obviously made that way to make the MC look better in comparison. And so their personalities are supposed to ‘justify’ how the male lead treats them, which I can’t wrap my head around. He doesn’t need to like them, but wishing that this girl died was honestly a low blow. (though she did plan the murder of another concubine, right? so i guess she’s somewhat deserving of that, yet does ML even know that it was her?). Especially if one had already lost her life. They may be a little mean but treat them like a human being, damn.
He’s obviously another stereotype character, with him being cold and mysterious and secretly super fucking op. So it’s not as if he has much personality to begin with except for being a total hard-ass. I kind of expected it when going into the story. All in all, I personally don’t see him as a character I would admire ~ 🤷♀️
Look, I get that the other consorts aren’t good people… But the emperor wishing that this woman, clearly in love with him, dies while out and about so he can slaughter a group of people. Feeling contempt towards her for taking his words at face value and not literally being something else.
Obviously not caring about the harem/inner palace infighting that has resulted in one death already.
Can we all agree that he is, at least, equally as bad a person as the antagonists? I’m not saying I want him to be squeaky clean or don’t want him as ML. I don’t even care if he faces consequences. It’s just that I don’t want everyone to go “awww he’s so in love with FL” and just forget his darker side.
