Ten chapters in and already the writing is dreadful. The powers aren’t even defined (the colours seem to be associated with elemental forces), and the world building is barely touched upon. I understand the desire to get to the action quickly, but there has to be a minimum.
The unity of time, place and action is not respected, because in chapter 10, we realise that of two groups evolving in parallel, one of the twelve is only given a few minutes, while the other was able to act for several hours…
The hero’s power, which he obtains by… ‘luck’… sigh!!! … oscillates between weak and completely abused/cheat depending on the desire of an author who is far too demiurgic and destroys any kind of balance of power. Moreover, even the characters’ actions are not logical: the author wants to impose ‘his’ story despite common sense.
It’s just another overpowered fantasy story with a hero on a super easy path, written too quickly and very poorly by a teenager with a hero complex…
Unfortunately, it’s a very bad start.
