It’s either that, or Miss Brownhair will stay behind to help manage the estate with our new ship once she goes back to the capital to be the empress. Yeah…to the male reader, sadly, some men really are like that. I had a middle-aged Korean co-worker and she said her father would keep nagging her that she must wear makeup 24/7 so she doesn’t lose her husband. Etc. A lot of older men in asian countries are still very misogynistic. If course that’s not all men. Just like in some stories sone fathers are excellent and try to do all they can for their daughters.
……I have to say this. I’m a male reader and the way theses stories have the male characters treat the female characters makes it a little hard to muscle through these stories. The fathers of those two women are so wrong. Those girls are both intelligent women. By forcing them to try and achieve the position of crown princess just closes of soooo many other roads they could’ve taken in life. The empire would benefit much more with people like them in positions where could blossom a d excel. But, such is the time period.
