You don’t get it, if the wife of a marquise slaps someone from a duchy that is a pretty grave offense. Not only do commoners have to “know their place” most nobility have to “know their place” as well and the mother can’t go slapping the heir to a duchy that is like serious fines and possible losing social positioning to avoid retribution.
