Exactly. Evan/Ivan has both his original personality plus the obsession the calamity had with her because she brought about his end. Evan/Ivan himself is not in love with Charlotte. That is all the Calamity’s soul inside him. When he “died,” as he stated happened, it likely activated Calamity inside him, waking him up. His emotions are mixing with Evan/Ivan’s, mixing the obsession from Calamity and respect and care from himself, bringing him to about as close to love as he can likely feel
