The mastermind is most likely the current king, and there is also a very small chance that it is Edwin’s mother! Much like the silver snake…she could have despised her husband, killed him and abandoned his child and married the man he loved who was his younger brother.
This all can also be said about the current king!
Whats almost certain is that those who are of the highest position in power are the only ones capable of plotting like this.
And I’m not entirely convinced about Richard, although I know where Edwins coming from…

I hope they don’t slam on the breaks wrt progressing the plot. While we could use the time to see these two open up and heal – too much idling while there’s a murder plot going on kills the tension.
