Is it me or the plot she was explaining was badly translated? I couldn’t understand a thing she recommended. But it’s good she found good people to take care of her.
The translation is very crude, yes. She’s basically saying that the Royal family, Count Theorvan, and Duke Angus are all angling to try and take control of Ehtelred, and suggesting they use her as a shield to keep them all away.
By claiming they are thinking of making her the heir without commiting to it, the others are all forced into a stalemate and cannot take control of Ethelred. But this plan would mean that Naviah will become a target of the others and likely put her in a LOT of danger from those who are greedy for Ethelred’s power. Which is why none of the adults in the room like the idea of basically throwing her to the wolves to protect themselves.
