      they’re literally dead tho???? what good does it do to break a promise to a living child to visit a grave??????
      considering his wife was a decent human being, she’d prolly be pissed at him if he chose visiting a grave over a living breathing child.
      it’d be different if the wife and kid were alive, then he should properly prioritize his own family, but like…. they’re literally dead. it’s good that he still honors their memory, but he shouldn’t honor their memory at the cost of mistreating innocent parties (and yes, breaking your promise to a seven year old to stare vacantly at a gravestone is mistreatment)
