I probably should have said this in the last chapter, but I think the Marquis’ decision to send Xiang’er back to her real family once she reaches marriageable age is quite clever. If Xiang’er is no longer the Marquis’ sister and is part of an entirely different household, that would make having an intimate relationship acceptable and they would be allowed to marry each other. Now that I think about it, this is probably the only way for Xiang’er and the Marquis to ever be together in perceivable relationship.
