People need to understand that every person reacts to traumatic experiences differently. Just because she sees how loving they are now, doesn’t mean that they’ll be like that towards her years from now. She’s a skeptic. She’s already experienced having a loving family only for it all to go down the gutter (at least based on what we’ve seen so far). I get this is a recurring trope and people get desensitized when the FL experiences trauma, but come on 😒
Also, how many royal family stories have you read where shit doesn’t go down?? Now imagine being isekai’d into one.
Personally as someone with familial trauma, I’d say the trope of reincarnated leads with a traumatic family past may be cuz when someone with no hope in having a loving family, and has given up on such, it can really mean a lot when they find people who they can call family, people who manage to warm their heart and get past the shield the lead held in order to protect themselves and proving without a doubt that they truly care about the lead. Take for example the trope of love interests with a depressing dark past, they tend to wind up opening up to the people who show them kindness. While yes irl there’s the risk of fake kindness as these sorts of people are vulnerable but when they experience true kindness and care, it can mean a lot, more than it can be described..
RANT: Why do MC’s need trauma? In every isekai-based manhwa, the MC’s life in the modern world is shit. They’re either poor or they have a shitty family. They’re never rich, talented, successful, nor do they have a family that loves them.
Maybe I’m nitpicking, but tropes like this make me automatically eye-roll.
At this point, I honestly don’t really care about the MC’s trauma (in the modern world, I mean) because it’s the same and it never changes so it doesn’t make me feel anything, if that makes sense.
I might sound insensitive while saying this and I don’t mean to say that her trauma doesn’t matter, I’m just saying its a boring way to give a character trauma.
Like, come on, people can experience familial love without being depressed or abandoned in their first life. You know what I mean?
Yall saying you understand mc had a hard life but you contradict yourself by saying she should get over it now that her situation is better? You don’t tell a depressed person to be happy, same thing applies to anybody with traumas. :/
My only complaint for this story so far is I already read similar stories like this but I wanna continue reading just to see how it ends~
i’m so tired of past life adults being reincarnated into a baby’s body and they’re ALWAYS in a rush to grow up and try to move and talk properly.. AS A FEW MONTHS OLD BABY??? and act surprised when people can’t understand them (because they’re a babbling baby) like dude just enjoy the baby life of eating, sleeping, and pooping. 😭😭 you will never know that life again. i just want to skip to when fl finally grows up. i’m so bored of this entire trope whenever i see it.
You can’t just tell ‘forget abt it’ to a traumatized person and they’ll just do forget it like magic. because if you can, there will be no such thing as therapy.
