   Partway through – it’s extremely mid.
   Everything happens in predictable fashion; characters are not well written and developed by forced drama.
   Most nonsensically of all, this is supposedly the last, or one of the last, safe cities on earth and it’s somehow not under martial law; people still roam the streets and are apparently unaware of the global apocalypse, as they treat the Butterflies as freaks and monsters, rather than literally the only thing keeping them all safe.
   It’s quite badly written, so it’s a wonder why other comments praise this so highly…

      This story has ambitions of being deep and thoughtful; delving into questions of what separates humans from bugs if both can think and feel, etc.
      Unforunately this is completely ruined by very stupid characters, stupid plot and stupid events.
      Human eating bugs are pitched as misunderstood victims… except they’ve wiped out most humans on earth and are dependent on the rest as food. The scientists running The Garden, humankind’s best and brightest, are depicted as suspicious; hiding information and having secret agendas of their own… except they’re incredibly easy to outsmart and only do stupid or obvious shit.
      It is amazingly poor as a story, but I’m amazed to say that Hajin is actually the most likable and understandable character, as well as the most messed up of them all.
      Overall, maybe 3/10. Bad plot, but mercifully short.
