I hate how people think possessive relationship is cute it’s not and they’re not even in a relationship so why is he acting like that it’s really annoys me if he’s only jealous fine I understand your crush is talking to another person it’s understandable many people have been there but trying to scare up the other person is wrong and I don’t like how people are trying to make it seem cute I think it’s a very disturbing and stupid behavior
This always annoys me. They are not in a relationship, he holds no claim to her. Even if the guy IS interested in her, it’s none of his business. Why do people find this possessiveness attractive? Once you’re in a relationship, if you tell them you like it, I can see it being fun and sexy then, because you’ve said ‘do this’ and they’ve complied. Respectful.
But why does every romance novel have a man ‘scaring off’ his competition like it’s supposed to prove his love? All it does is make me dislike the love interest. Because he doesn’t respect her choices and on top of that when they get married, I think she won’t be allowed to have any real friends, because he’ll get ‘jealous’ of them all. Male or female, because men this insecure usually do that kind of thing. They start with men because people think that’s more ‘reasonable’ but they even get jealous of her girl friends??? This is a trope that happens and it’s supposed to be cute?
It’s most frustrating that they all become attracted to the FL and none ever bother to try and start a relationsip with her; like, WTF are you waiting for?
Or they do try and the FL will reject them for “insert bullshit reason”. Never anything sensible. A trope I hate also.
The writing’s typically pretty poor in these stories, and this is no exception, but really now…
