To be fair, he seems to be doing his best for Lus. He’s behind in emotionally supporting the child but he did declare Lus as his son and heir, rather than admitting they’re only uncle & nephew. Plus, as far as he knows the child isn’t being abused while Ibelia is experiencing a situation similar to his sister. He couldn’t help his sister but he can at least help Ibelia.
I understand her wish to go away from him (the ml) and the little kid (Luc? Lus? I forgot his name). She just went inside the novel, not knowing a thing about where and how her life is gonna go if she decided to stay. In a situation where someone feels their life is getting threatened, they usually have the instinct to fight or flight. In this case, the fl choose to flee. She doesn’t want to be bothered and be scared all the time during her stay in the ml’s house. She can’t be inside her house all the time either considering the abuse she experienced. So, she wants out. At least, that’s what i concluded after reading this chap. I also agree with Maze4life’s comment! In her pov, he’s the big bad wolf, even if in our eyes, he’s the ml!
The fear of unknown is scarier than we all think, so honestly her actions are all pretty normal right now. Well, at least to me. If you think otherwise, that’s fine! Everyone has their own opinion about stuff!
I kinda understand fl, What she wants is GENUINE freedom, from her family, from the story,
She is the root cause of the Pain THE OG ML goes through which is a big part of HIS story. She’ll rather leave quietly than stay beside him, giving him false hope of something that might leave soon.
Trust me, giving false hope is the cruelest thing someone can do to a child who sees a mother in u.
Also, fl is creating connection with the head of the information guild. I’m sure her future business with him will produce enough money for her to live freely once she is gone.
