The grandson of an antique dealer and the beggar princess got married. Lasting for two years, they were to engage in a contract marriage to fulfill their respective interests. An aspiring naval officer and wealthy man, a grandchild of an antique dealer who is despised solely due to his humble bloodline despite his golden success. Bastian Clauvitz needed a stepping stone for success and revenge. A fallen aristocrat who can only relive the glory of the past, a princess who makes a living through manual labors even though she has the blood of the imperial family flowing within her. Odette von Dysen needed money to start a new life. Both thought it was a beneficial deal, until something unexpected happened. “You ruined the most precious thing to me, so it’s only fair if you lose something equally precious, too. Am I wrong?” Bastian decided to hold her responsible for the damage that occurred. Hate, resentment, regret, even the name of this damn woman. For the sake of a complete end where everything was burned white and faded.

And i think it was solche’s charm to create the most hated, antagonistic, clever, son of a bitch MLs— so if you don’t want additional stress in your life or if you have no energy to tolerate scheming bastards , just avoid solche’s works. I never read the novel’s description and I always end up reading solche’s works and everytime I realize that the writing style seems familiar, I’m already deep in the novel— emotionally invested and attached in the plot ;v;

If you are familiar with ‘Cry Even Better If You Beg’ and ‘The Problematic Prince’— if I’m not mistaken, both were written by Solche too. Both of the novels has the FML emotionally tortured by the ML. And as disgusting as it is, both have scenes where the fml were coerced doing it whether it was for satisfying the ml (fml is in love) or pressuring the fml (blackmailing or threathening). MLs have the tendency of having a twisted obsession for the FML and the FML being blindly attracted to the ML while trying to fight back the feeling because they knew it will just bring them more harm than good. Actually, thinking about it now, it is quite alright to give them a low review? Although the novels are written quite good, the themes especially the SA part still kinda put it off for me. I really like angst novels and solche’s works has my heart throb every single time. If she could just remove the SA parts it would be fantastic. I’m not trying to justify this one nor convincing yall to read it. This just a trigger warning so you can drop this early and not be invested in it :>

I was wondering why the vibe and the flow of the story is familiar (I’ve read a few chapters from the novel amd haven’t seen the manhwa ver). It turns out that this was written by Solche too. The plot has quite angst in it. The ML, if I’m correct will be an ass, and the FML will be a powerless maiden exploited by many. I think Solche truly loves these themes: modernization is emmerging to aristocracy; railroads, carriages and cars are competing with each other; blood line is becoming weaker and wealth becoming a new standard of raising one’s status; power struggle between men and women (women being exploited back in time for their father, brother, son’s benefit). Solche’s work are often marked as an 18+ with themes of being dark, abusive, and a bit of angsty (some of the works even have scenes where the fml is coerced, confined and crushed by the ml) Most of the times it leaves the reader frustrated, stressed and resentful both towards the characters, plot and even the author itself— if you are not up to that, I suggest you drop this one instead of hating or leaving a bad review.

Bro really stretching to justify SA. Crazy
thatgirllexee
To clarify, from my understanding, the SA is not r*pe. He kisses her, touches her, without consent later on in the story.
This is a dark story. If you are uncomfortable with abusive relationship dynamics in love lines, don’t read it. It’s not shameful to like or read this story. It’s just important you recognize it is abuse and it is not good I’m real life.
Also remember the cultural differences. Sometimes just taking in the fact this is Korean and a “period piece” gives context that makes certain choices make more sense in context to the story.
