I’ve never understood the “traditional” thinking of men being able to count their children and wife as “property”. To me thats as dumb as saying “I bet my best friend!” Or saying “I bet $1,000 of my best friends money”, etc. like you should only have ownership over what you TRULY own. Nobody truly owns someone else 100%. But I guess it’s just how they lived life back then. In a way it almost makes sense but… not really because if you can’t control someone 100% then you don’t have ownership over them. There’s a thing called free will
