There’s an infamous true story of an uncle who killed off his “missing” nephew, the rightful heir and it even [allegedly] influenced the Grim’s brothers Hansel and Gretel. Official reports note that they travelled through that very town. Ofc it was only one of sadly many stories of child abandonment but killing for title and money was more rare than the usual poverty; it’s still a well known story in the area today
