Yo… I also feel bad for both girls … and to her mom, Rebecca and that high priest are both to blame. Each an antagonist in their own way.
Amaryllis was born, produced and raised to be “all that”…no wonder she is going through a mental crisis… she’s truly innocent from the beginning…
And our FL… was hated from the beginning, due to the antagonistic choices of her own mother (even if meant good) and whatever the plan of that evil priest.
And I get it… brother and siblings were also to blame … but in this series… the actual series dictates that the church has dominance over every else… we know that in real life people have done much worse due to misguided beliefs.
If anything, our FL should have been killed right away due to being a “calamity”. She’s alive due to the setting of the story and for the sake of drama.
yeah completely normal for the “light” of the empire to not want a blessing and the “darkness” is blessed by god? Doesn’t make the high priests oracle seem strange, someone needs to start asking serious questions about why they’ve been treating astarte this way just because he said so
