I can’t believe the excuse its the head maids interference keeping him in the dark. So the head maid got away with forging documents and extorting money from the empress palace all this time but no one is talking about the cursed princess’ only maid begging for left overs, somehow this information didn’t get back to the king? Where is his information network or aids? So no one is watching the supposed cursed kid to make sure she isn’t doing things that will ruin the kingdom? The princes see the palaces poor upkeep and her poorer condition and give her some things but don’t question why she has nothing to begin with. She’s basically abandoned but they give her a huge budget?
