It was foolish of her to declare that she wouldn’t send letters though. She could just as easily wait until she got married or just never actually send a response when he wrote to her. Better yet she could inform Count Domine and work with him to feed misinformation to the cartel. That way if anyone accused her of being a spy she would have a witness to vouch for her.
