@MiscMech although that not the exact information that Python give but yeah almost the right one, except the part where six great star fell to human world are wrong since two great star never left the grave from beginning and the four great star comes back to grave to rest because human can’t handle the ability they get from the four great star that fallen to human world. But it’s still a good explanation

I’ll try my hand at explaining.
So there’s the human world and “the grave” which is pretty much a stand in for a divine/magical realm. In this world are magical being called “stars”, six of which are more powerful than the others.
An unspecified time in the past, these stars went to war and six of them fell to the human world, entering humans and creating the four ducal families. Humans can’t handle that level of power, so one of the two stars left (the squirrel) created the monster forest and lake (where the kids almost died) to bridge the gap between worlds.
The other star (Hogu) had their power enter a human at the lake (maybe because it was where the worlds connected) and that created the first Rtiom, the person who can purify the ducal families of the pain of using their powers (FL).
The stars’ hosts died and the power and illness caused by the original possession passed on to their descendants. Rtiom isn’t an aspect of the host physically like that. Think of it as holding a flashlight vs having bio-luminescent skin. The flashlight can be handed off to someone else, but the skin can only be inherited. You may injure yourself while using the flashlight, but any genetic issues tied to the glowing skin are passed on.
The OG Rtiom met Hogu and that star told them how to help the humans who had powers (ducal families) and how making a contract would mitigate side-effects to them. However, Hogu fell into a sleep to recover, like the other four great stars. When the first Rtiom died, they couldn’t pass on knowledge of the lake due to the contract. So any Rtiom after the first had no way of knowing any of this. If Hogu were awake, it could have lead them to the lake she ended up on accident.
This star is the only one of the six awake and wanted to eliminate Rtiom so that it’s friend will wake up.
Hogu’s power is the ability to turn back time, so her second life is thanks to it. That’s also why this star wants to contract her, because its friend must have given her a second chance for a reason.

…….i understood NOTHING about the BG story…like yes it’s English and looks like the grammar is fine….but the context of the text is all over the place which is so confusing to get what they’re talking about…my brain is rotting from the TL🫨🫨🫨
