No spoilers here ― in the original timeline Claude had never acknowledged Athy (she was a princess, but Claude was detached and had no warm feelings towards Athy, they didn’t even play pretend). As here they were a family. Maybe a rather cold one, but still they attended gatherings and had dinners, and for the most part the Duke thought of Kiera as of his daughter (even if he wasn’t affectionate towards her).
