If I’m not mistaken one of the artist has bias towards erez and they were the one who wanted to go with this ml thing. Since erez would have more importance and screen time later on the story, it’s obvious that he is most likely ml. So far in my opinion, Joseph is just there to be a comfort toy who comes and be emotional support for Keira. Kind of sad for Joseph considering the past and stuff but author bias and importance to plot definitely has a edge.
