So she deeply resents Shuri after she cut ties and stopped caring about her emotional blackmails. This is the best way to get back a Shuri she could think of, because in her mind (and in the mind of a lot of parents irl) Shuri is her property, and thus something she had the right to exploit for the rest of her life. This is why she sold Shuri off to begin with, it wasn’t just the initial money, it was the “investment” in her future as a marchioness.
Among this some people deserve the worst of the worst, and church as a whole is a part of it. First of that cardinal, second crown prince, and third I hope MC’s mother suffer the worst of the worst.
