Ok so this feels like a Kung fu panda situation. When tai lung was a child he was told that he would become the dragon warrior. This turned out to not be the case. This is the same thing happening with the blond kid. So in order for her to be the perfect daughter to her family. She locked FL in the basement and continued to be the saintess in all of the timelines.

what the blond kid did was wrong no matter how you spin the narrative. Honestly i feel that the goddess chose someone else to be the saintess in order to keep the family in check or because they became too greedy.

He’s probably the ml but so far i don’t like him…… it’s obvious he became the fiance of red eyes just because everyone thought she would be the next saintess Second i get the feeling he’s in a way using Esther just cause of her power, also we all know him flirting with Esther while being engaged will make her look bad cause red eyes is probably gonna vent he anger on Esther because she got dumped.

I will reiterate what others have pointed out but with clear words: He wasn’t asleep during her crimes. It was stated in the last panels that he had only been asleep for three months and it was stated that this was a repeated occurrence for him. He would fall asleep and not wake up. Ravien was said to be the next Saintess SIMPLY because her family had Saintesses in the past. The Goddess obviously saw how wicked her family had become and chose to dissolve that partnership and raise up a Saintess of humble beginnings. It is also very clear from the first few chapters that Ravien did not have any holy power and had to consume Ether’s blood in order to obtain it. I cannot remember how many times she had repeated this life cycle but it had been quite a few times and it was only this recent cycle that things changed such as her meeting the Duke and believing that he alone can end her suffering (being reincarnated). As for Ben, he was not at all surprised by Esther being there with him, he even said things that implied that he already knew her (of course, because he saw her), what I am saying is that Ben was able to see who Esther was in her dreams, it stands to reason he did the same with Ravien. As for breaking off their engagement, it was arranged because Ravien was thought to be the Saintess and Ben needs one to stay… well… awake. (He will probably sink into a Neverending sleep otherwise). Since he realized that Esther was the real Saint, he no longer has to stay engaged to a girl who doesn’t even really hide how awful she is.

Why are some of y’all icky about him dumping Ravien? Chances are he never even wanted to be with her and he was forced to because she was expected to be the saintess. Now that Esther saved him, he has no reason to be bound to that engagement
