What kind of guards just standing around after their Duchess got slapped. They only restraint him when the kid show up. There are other way to create drama without making the duchy looks incompetent. This is not small small fry, poor noble house.
Alot of the flow of this story doesn’t make sense. At this point, I’m only reading because the story does a good job at portraying abuse trauma.

They should have him killed and make it look like an accident while he’s traveling back home. The duke would have to convince him to leave without Larissa probably with a contract for a monthly allowance or something. And it was probably the dukes cousin that wanted to marry him who told this garbage where the girls are hoping he’d take them away and she’d be able to be the duchess then ?
Who the fk told her father??? Maybe the duke’s uncle? I hate this person already. Larissa looks terrified, all her progress towards overcoming her trauma was lost
