People who are wondering why the FL didn’t do anything… if you remember there wasn’t a hint of them being locked in the tower. Even in the novel it said they went abroad. She had no way of knowing that this was going to happen. Even IF there is a line of succession. Also they were eventually set free (within one year) and since they are all children who would believe them if they said they were locked up? Gaslighting is a thing, remember. And all the adults are in on it so no, no one would believe them.
So true! I feel suffocated. Sure hope she succeeds in saving Estelle somehow. This is so horrible. I wish she could take advantage of the banquet and reveal to all those guests whats really going on in this household! Just save the little girl pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!!!

I agree. The parents are dead. Why is she not thinking it wasn’t an accident and we’re killed. Why did she not think this was a matter of succession early on. She continued to believe that they would let them out while they have showed repeatedly that they aren’t going to. As an adult I would even question if my meals were poisoned. She is too naive. She is questioning but making no plans. I would make shift a weapon and kill that servant to get out.

If you saw the first few chapters she was torned between leaving and staying with estelle. Everything is falling apart between the children and the only thing that kept them sane was estelle. If she goes out alone and was caught— she would probably be killed. Even if she survived, the 3 will be moved. The next heir signed some documents and even handed out the official seal— so the adults can fabricate evidence. The time estelle died is not mentioned too so she’s anxious of living her behind. The first weeks, they trusted the adults. The following months it became winter and the isolation is eating their remaining sanity (especially the 3 children who don’t have any clue about their future) the novel did explain the situation more detailed. That’s why I’m being biased. The other reason why she can’t brought up the betrayal at first was because she’s afraid that this will affect her relationship with them. If that happens, they won’t believe her anymore and won’t listen to her. She can’t help them if they want to ignore her.
