I like it so far, because it’s different in many aspects from most other fantasy-romance-manhwas (maybe because this story is a Japanese manga?). As of chapter 24, no time-travel or isekai has happened, and I don’t think it ever will.
The female lead – queen Elise – fakes her death with the help of her family, because her royal husband, the emperor is violent and has a horrible personality.
The female lead then works as a teacher somewhere farther away under an older woman, a researcher, while keeping her ties to important people who together think of a way to overthrow the emperor – and how to get rid of other problems, like poisonous monsters whose blood turns people into monsters themselves after a curse-like transformation.
To be honest, I fail to see what’s so great about the female lead; most of the people in this story praise her because of how she kept the empire together while she was still queen. However, after her escape she doesn’t seem so smart to me at all, she does not even disguise herself and such gets recognized after a while by a local noble for example…
The emperor is absolutely overexaggeratedly evil and oppresses everyone around him with the help of a magic ring, plus he also has a lover/concubine.
This lover on the other hand – Lumiera/Lyumiella – plays an important part of the story: she is actually a close teammate as well as an admirer of the female lead.
For example this lady later on collaborates with an influental family in order to plan the revolution, following instructions given by the female lead.
The dark-haired male lead (the one on the cover) is battle-worn (against said poisonous monsters) and suffers from after-effects of those battles, but at least he’s not overly typical, because he’s not stiff, taciturn or even rude; but a friendly and (outwardly) carefee person who helps the female lead a lot.
If you can look past the insufferable emperor with his overdone facial expressions and some uselessly overdramatic scenes, you’ll find that the story itself surely is worth the read.

oh from summary one pleasant element there is no time reversal and revenge will be in this time line
