      The double standards of some people in the comment section is just…
      When a female lead saves a male lead from imprisonment or slavery, and they chose to be loyal to her and be a bodyguard and shit, everyone goes aww
      When its the female lead getting saved here, suddenly she is just a damsel in distress and she should be independent
      Like wth?!

      It looks like you don’t know how many different plots fit under the romance/drama tag if you’re using that as an argument…. Maybe your mind will expand as you ready more…..
      Hmmm… you got it wrong, I’m not a pseudo-feminist, I’m a full on feminist and it’s not the insult you think it is. I mostly read romance with some horror mixed in. One of my favs is “Tyrant wants a better life,” “the villainess lives twice” and “the antagonist’s pet. “Shadows House” is a good horror but thats on bato
      Anyway, grow up and stop getting offended by ppl’s notes to themselves, I wrote that to keep myself from wasting my time rereading a story I didn’t like not to try to stop others from enjoying it.

   I just want more from a fl then living for the ml. I want her to have her own goals that have nothing to do with him

   The story is only starting, but I already have so much to say.
   So the fl is a blonde beauty, and the ml is a black-haired sassy guy, which is overrated to say the least. The fl’s ability to see ghosts is quite cool, but it’s not well expanded, she just can and that’s all. The ml is the typical bad-tempered, overprotective Duke, who is (ofc) cursed. The setting of the Imperial Family not being able to control the “Devil(-ish?) Archduke”, but trying to do so with the ml is questionable at best. The fl was made to be special (as she was the only to survive in the Archduke’s basement + the whole ‘seeing ghosts quirk’) and it’s showing heavily. The art is really pretty and it’s the only thing somewhat saving this manhwa. To top it off, the title “The Secrets of the Lovely Duchess” is incredibly bland and it’s the second worst title I’ve ever seen, right after “Various Daylife”. We’ll se how the story develops in the future, but I don’t think it can be saved.

   tl;dr: It’d mid.
