I only made it to chapter 3 before I got really annoyed.
1. Fl knew about the river and didn’t do anything to cultivate it to feed or protect her people, only begging other nobles for donations.
2. Fl didn’t have anyone outside to door to protect her in case of an incident when meeting other lords and letting them bring their solders into the castle with them even though she knows he’s a bad person.
3. Fl is the only heir but has not done any work to take over or been looking for a suitable husband to manage the land.
It’s like the author put no thought into what happened in fer family before the story started and all the characters were plopped down at the start. If it’s explained later then that was a poor choice bc the everyone around the fl including her come off as thoughtless and negligent.
