The main story revolves around the female lead (FL), who slept and got pregnant with a man at her coming-of-age party but later forgot who it was. There are three possible candidates: Theo, the crown prince; Grey, a duke; and Evan, her former guard, now a baron. FL eliminates Evan as a possible by saying, “He is just a guard with low status; I can’t have done it with him.”
When FL gets pregnant, Evan, as if signaling that he’s not the one, offers to marry her and be responsible for Eden, but she rejects him, again due to his low status.
Five years later, FL meets Grey, who denies being the father. In my opinion, Grey doesn’t seem particularly interested in FL or willing to take responsibility for Eden. Theo then invites FL to a banquet and asks her to bring Eden. FL’s brother warns her that Theo might claim Eden as his for political reasons. However, regardless of Theo’s hidden agenda, there’s still a possibility that Theo is the father of Eden, he is the last candidate. When Theo is about to claim Eden, however, FL, instead of seeking the truth about Eden’s status, just cuts off that possibility by inviting Grey as her partner and giving Theo a signal as if Grey were Eden’s father….. , she’s done all of that without even asking for Grey’s consent. Not to mention Evan’s efforts—earning a noble title, he taking good care of Eden, and even playing with him—FL still ignores his kindness and efforts entirely.
I reached chapter 20 while writing this, but I still don’t know who the male lead (ML) is. But I dare to say that Theo is one of the villains. I will drop this book because I dislike FL for belittling Evan and just care about Grey who doesn’t even look at Eden. She cares nothing but herself.
